excursion into one of the largest restored National Historic Landmark
Districts in the nation. Highlights of this include the 2.2 square miles of
the Historic District’s rich history with its restored 18th and 19th century
buildings and the waterfront where cotton warehouses are now hotels,
restaurants and shops. The city eloquently displays exquisite ironwork,
ancient cobblestones, splendid mansions, historic churches and

8:00 AM Begin your day with breakfast at the hotel.
9:00 AM Our LOW COUNTRY TOUR extends the history of Savannah and
shows how the city grew into the Victorian District with its gingerbread
architecture to Ardsley Park- the first surburban neighborhood of parks
and fashionable residences designed in a variety of European styles. We
will meander down Victory Drive- Savannah’s famous mansion-lined
avenue of palm trees and azaleas planted for soldiers killed in WWII,
and possibly take a peek at Savannah’s own “Extreme Home Makeover”
featured on national television. This tour wouldn’t be complete without a
stop at Byrd Cookie Company- a part of Savannah history since 1924
and a favorite stop for visitors featuring the “benne wafer”, eclectic
gourmet pantry items and gifts, and samples of their famous cookies.
12:00 PM You can find lunch (on your own) on River Street.
2:00 PM Did you like the movie Forrest Gump? Would you like to find out about
“Buster the coal saving dog”? If you answered yes to either of these
questions, then the Savannah History Museum is the place for you!
The Savannah History Museum showcases the city’s history from its
founding in 1733 to the present day, and has everything from an
interactive component about Native American cultures to a 1902
Crestmobile, a car that pre-dates the Ford Model A. Visitors can learn
about the Revolutionary War in Savannah or see Johnny Mercer’s Oscar
and Grammy awards. You can test your wits in a fast-paced trivia quiz.
Complete your visit by relaxing in their Sketch Studio and “drawing”
inspiration from the Pulaski Monument.
3:30 PM Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Tour- where the Girl Scouts began.

Gingerbread House was built in1899 and has been featured in numerous
magazines, books and movies. It is Savannah’s most photographed
home! Your visit this evening includes a tour of this private home.
6:00 PM It is now time for DINNER at Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room-a Savannah
institution! Enjoy all your Southern favorites.

8:00 PM Welcome to the Savannah Theatre. Having opened its doors on
December 4, 1818, this historic theatre is the oldest one of its kind
still operating on the original site in the U.S. Over the past two
centuries, the theatre has undergone several face-lifts as a result of
damaging fires. Today, the theatre is restored in the classic 1940’s Art
Deco style. The Beat Goes On includes the greatest hit songs from the
60’s, 70’s and 80’s. For you folks that have gone to American Music
Theatre in Lancaster, PA, you might remember Charlie who was their
orchestra conductor and director of their shows for years until he
moved to Savannah. You are in for a treat!!!!!
10:15 PM Show ends and now we return back to the hotel. Good Night!
